"Our family business" was established 69 years ago in a small mountain resort town near the Pocono 500 Racetrack hidden in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania. Johnnie's Inn Restaurant and Catering Company started with meager beginnings. Grandparent’s Johnnie DeSanto and his wife Mary decided to start a restaurant business using the front porch of their home. They set up a few tables and chairs with red and white checkered tablecloths and started serving the “local hunters in the mountains,” chili, SPaghetti and MEATBALLS, wine and beer. Because of the quaint, warm, family atmosphere and Superb food, the service extended to families and friends, waiting in line outside to get a table on that
"little front porch."
“Our Parents” Albert A. and Carmella DeSanto Ingetti, took the restaurant to the next level Acquiring a liquor license and purchasing an old Historical Inn and called the restaurant, “Johnnie’s Pocono Summit Inn.” The Inn was a beautiful old white building with black shutters and beautiful green Ivy growing extensively over the exterior walls which is Pictured above.
The interior was decorated with dark hard wood floors, original high tin ceilings, hanging antiques lamps, fireplace, fresh flowers, candles and the same red and white checked tablecloths.
The menu was expanded to include additional sophisticated offerings which consisted of the same favorite homemade spaghetti & meatballs with Johnnies famOus Italian family recipe for slow-cooked delicious red sauce (gravy), other Pasta dishes, lobster tail, prime rib, steaks, veal chops and creative house specials. Salads and desserts were always tailored to the customer’s desires.
The business expanded into a catering And a Special Event company and for many years, Johnnie's Inn was the "only"catering company located in the Pocono mountains. Johnnie’s Inn was extremely popular with celebrities, athletes, dignitaries, business and resort owners, local clientele and many generations of loyal families and friends.
“The Children” Albert and Barbara Ingetti, spun off from the family business into a new corporation establish in Pennsylvania and PURSUED other consulting opportunities and contracts with exclusive, member’s only golf clubs and resorts in both Pennsylvania and Florida, spending half of the year under contract at the prestigious Buck Hill Golf and Tennis Club, Buck Hill Falls, PA. and the Ocean Reef Club resort in Key Largo, Florida, as well as operational and start-up consulting for other corporately owned restaurants. More exciting opportunities came to fruition for boutique and rustic ecotourism and Adventure resorts in Panama and Belize.
Going Another Direction:
In 2001 "Barbara Ingetti" accepted a position in Global Business Development with an International u.s. start-up, accounting and consulting firm, with a unique integrated business model. we were global growth experts and assisted U.S. companies in all sectors, expand their operations in the U.s. and overseas. The company was acquired in a Profitable Merger and ACQUISITION in 2013 by a Private Equity firm in London. After two more years on the transition team, all DIVERSE knowledge and experience was Combined to launch...
